East Village’s Marble Cemetary
There is a cemetery on 2nd st. between 1st and 2nd Avenue in the East Village of New York City that is consistently peaceful amid the E. V. noise.
I’ve heard a bit about the cemetery -like evidently there was a plot “opening up” a few years ago and somebody paid a ridiculous sum for it- but other than that.. I haven’t been sure what the story was.
A brief search of the web reveals the secrets … The gravesite is known as Marble Cemetery and was established in 1830. An informational website provides great detail here.
