Jason Calcanis Resigns as AOL CEO

In an expected move, Jason Calcanis has seen his last days running AOL and has let them know, in effect, “It’s over. I’m done with you.”

As reported by “ShowMoney” (a.k.a. Jeremy Shoemaker), Jason’s mouth probably undid his tenure with his outspoken and sometimes controversial running of Netscape where he openly defied and derided it’s competitor, Digg - as well as congratulated the popular social voting news service on its rocketing success.

Regardless, Jason’s a good guy and he’ll likely land on his feet. Must be a few startups licking their digital chops. Expect him leading the charge somewhere within a month.
