Google Stealth: Expanding the Google Network and CPM Display Ad Inventory

John Chow’s blog details a new initiative by Google to expand their offerings to advertisers who are interested in CPM ad inventory. Specifically, Google wants to get their feet in the brand dollars which are shifting online and will represent the big kahuna of online ad dollars in the future.

the quality content associated with these sites will be exactly what brand dollars will chase. Brand media buyers could purchase on Google’s contextual network but with little control over selection of content, this would not meet brand goals – associate with quality.
