With an opening date of April, the East Village awaits its least welcome new neighbor. In that Cooper Square Hotel has applied for several bar licenses, will a casino be next? Is there an indian tribe in the neighborhood which might like to open its own casino? I’m sure the Peck Moss Group would love to entertain the thought.
As much as it pains me to say, I do like the shape of the new building (I love vibes.) and I look forward to the architectural conversation between it and the new John Mayne-designed Cooper Union building. Will the Cooper Square Hotel apply for a cryogenic chamber next? Stay tuned.
