New Museum Expands Exhibit to Second Avenue Curb

It appears that the New Museum is emptying its new building and taking its exhibitions to the streets of the East Village.

Saturday, I was walking along Second Avenue between 4th and 5th Streets and – outside Frank – I spied this collection of current or future New Museum artwork.

As faithful readers may recall from a previous post here on the East Village Podcasts blog, the pile of chairs theme prevailed in the opening exhibit at the New Museum – Unmonumental: The Object in the 21st Century.

Was the exhibit kicked to the curb? How does this effect the New Museum brand? Or… has Frank opened a competing museum?
