July 4 Fireworks Stops Cabs in East Village

Last night was another Fireworks hoo-ha along the East River. It’s an awesome experience for the first 5 or 6 years. In the last few July 4s, though, EVP has found the location for viewing more interesting than the fireworks. I mean we like ’em, we just don’t care a lot.

This year, we watched the Grucci family explosions by reprising last year’s visit to First Avenue in NYC’s East Village and were pleasantly surprised by what happened.

And now, video from Independence Day 2008. There is no need to hail a cab on July 4 in the East Village

For more on fireworks seen from the East Village, see EV Grieve’s rooftop view.
